What to Do with My Microphone
I've got a microphone. What should I be doing with it? Audacity is a free download. Click on the link and download version 1.2.6 to your computer. Also go HERE and follow the instructions. Remember where you save the unzipped file. You will be asked the first time you save a file as an mp3 where it is. You will only be asked that first time.

Some uses for your microphones:
  • Record yourself reading test questions for your struggling student.
  • Record students reading for fluency.
  • Record spelling words for practice. Students can press pause between each word to write it down, or you can pause in your recording long enough to write it down.
  • Upload pictures to VoiceThread and let students comment on them.
  • Record picture books for a listening center.
  • Record yourself reading math facts for students to practice.
  • Record students reading poetry or an essay they've written.

Actually, the list is endless. I'm sure you can think of others. In fact, I invite you to join this wikispace and add your own ideas! You can also check out these wikis I've found:
